Two hours on foot through the historic centre with a local guide, for your group only, in English. The route is lightly adapted to what you care about: painting, politics, architecture, food, or simply the best way to spend the rest of the day. Three hours on request for cities that need it (The Hague, Rotterdam, Leiden).

Prices are “from” because a guide’s rate can vary by city, day and language; you receive a confirmed figure by email before you decide, and it does not change afterwards. Larger groups, other languages and longer days are possible on request.
Price basis checked 2026-09-10: comparable two-hour private walks in these cities are sold locally and on platforms for roughly €160–300 per group. We have not invented a saving figure; compare for yourself.

How an enquiry works
- Tell us the city, a date (approximate is fine), how many of you, and what interests you.
- We reply within one working day with a guide, a confirmed price and a proposed meeting point.
- You confirm by email and pay by transfer or payment link.
- You buy your train ticket on the day and go. Your guide is waiting at the agreed spot.
When you do not need us
Haarlem and Utrecht are easy alone. Delft is small and signposted. If you enjoy wandering with a map, the city pages on this site are enough and we would rather you had a good day than a guided one. A guide earns their place where the history is under the surface, where the day needs planning, or where someone in the group would rather listen than read. We wrote that down honestly.

- What exactly do I get?
- A private walking introduction to one city with a local guide who knows it: 2 hours (or 3 on request), in English, for your group only, starting near the station or a central landmark and lightly tailored to your interests. No transport, no admissions, no meals.
- What does it cost?
- From €185 for a private group of up to 4 for two hours, plus €20 per extra person up to 6. Three hours from €255. You receive a confirmed price by email before anything is agreed. Train tickets, admissions and food are not included.
- Is this a booking?
- No. You send an enquiry with a city, a date and your group size; we reply within one working day with a guide, a price and a meeting point; you confirm by email. Nothing is charged until you have agreed.
- How do I pay?
- By bank transfer or payment link after you confirm. Details come with the confirmation email. We do not take payment through this website.
- Who are the guides?
- Independent local guides who know the city they show, speak good English and are good company. We arrange and confirm the guide for each enquiry and tell you who it is before you confirm. We do not publish guide profiles until a guide has agreed to be listed.
- Can you do Amsterdam?
- Not at launch. Amsterdam has many good tours already; we concentrate on the cities that do not. Ask and we will say honestly whether we can help.
- What if I cancel?
- Tell us as early as you can. Cancellations more than 48 hours before the start are free; later than that we ask you to pay the guide’s fee, because the guide has kept the time for you. Weather is not a reason to cancel; the Netherlands is rainy and the walk goes ahead.
